Laura Irish
Laura Irish is an award-winning actress, improviser, playwright and new Director of the Nelson Fringe. She was a founding member of Body in Space Theatre Company. Laura is also a trustee on the Nelson Fringe Charitable Trust and the New Zealand Improv Trust. She has written Hot Chocolate and The Trail's End, Misunderstood the Musical and currently has 3 new plays in works: Redwood, The Naiads and Plenty of Fish in the Sea: A Human Story. She was also on the writing team and acted for Down to the Wire, the award-winning short in the 2016 Christchurch HP48 Hour Film Festival with TBALC. She studied at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in NYC in 2013 and has a healthy obsession with Shakespeare. She is a usual adjudicator for The SCGNZ University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival as well. Laura is super excited to be able to indulge in ALL the 2017 Fringe shows.
Hadley Taylor
Hadley Taylor is an Auckland based actor, radio host and MC. He moved to Auckland two years ago from Dunedin, where he co-founded the production company Counterpoint, and performed regularly at Fortune theatre. Since moving up north to study under Michael Saccente he has appeared in Dust Palace’s Ithaca as Antero, as Aladdin in Twisted at the Basement Theatre, in the short film SAM334 and on Shortland St. Last year, much to Laura's dismay, Hadley won Best Script at the Nelson Fringe for his play Swimming with Whales in Tonga. His writing career started by writing sketch comedy for the OUSA Capping Show. Hadley has also written several cabarets, including the award winning Slice of Pie (James Wallace Emerging Artist).

Catherine Hart
Catherine Hart is a Wellington-based theatre maker and writer. She has been reviewing theatre for the past four years, during which time she has also been an active theatre practitioner within the Wellington arts community. She has worked on many PlayShop Productions, including their weekly show, PlayShop LIVE!, as well as their seasons of 10 Things I Hate About Us (NZ Fringe 2015 and winner of ‘Best Improv’), Suddenly! A Musical, Admen (NZ Fringe 2016) and SED Speeches (2016 NZ International Comedy Festival). She has also worked as a stage manager for Pat-A-Cake Productions, on shows such as A Stage of One's Own in the Hutt, The Trickle Down Effect and May Contain Sex Scenes. At the beginning of 2016 she took on the administration and management of the Wellington arts reviewing website, Art Murmurs. She recently returned from the UK, where she spent six weeks working as a Venue Stage Manager for Gilded Balloon for the Edinburgh Festival. She plans on returning to Edinburgh in 2017 to work as a Venue Manager with the same company.
Giles Burton
Giles Burton is a theatre director who has worked in Europe, Asia and New Zealand. Most recently he directed A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Nelson. He has worked in many capacities on numerous festivals including: Edinburgh Fringe, Wexford Opera, Tbilisi, Athens and NZ International Festival in Wellington. He is also a director of the Prague Fringe Festival.
